When I first started this site I thought initially I would focus on the tech and some events but quickly
realized there are many much better sites where you can find information about motion graphics, visuals, tutorials, etc. Live VFX is a site for inspiration and information pertaining directly to the quickly exploding world of media based performance art. Like it or not video, animation, short films, graphics, VFX will play an increasingly central role in the live events you go to.
I saw Neil Young at the Garden in December and even as old school as he is with his approach to music, he had a painter behind him completely a short painting after each song. While the idea was interesting it wasn't really all that entertaining, Neil Young would've had to do much more to outdo his own persona onstage and take it to another level. This site is dedicated to all of those super talented motion graphics artists, filmmakers, animators, VFX artists, compositors who want to explore other opportunities outside the "cube". While I will also post visuals from artists regardless of the output the main focus of this site is live events, whether it's concerts, installations, art galleries, video based performances, etc. This is a great start, there is an article in this month's digital content producer which discusses visual designers who work in concerts and also as vjs.
